PAIR of Elm and Beech Bedside Cabinets with Integral Lights by White & Newton 1960s
PAIR of Elm and Beech Bedside Cabinets with Integral Lights by White & Newton 1960s
Made in the 1960s by the prestigious firm of White & Newton of Portsmouth and designed by Philip Hussey after he took over as the main designer in 1964.
This pair of bedside cabinets are made of solid elm with beech trim and have the added feature of integral strip lights! The top of the cabinets flip open if more light is needed and then can be folded down again if a more subdued atmosphere is preferred.
These were originally attached to a solid elm and padded headboard (which we still have and will be included if the buyer wishes*). There are 3 holes on one side of each cabinet (please see images) where they attached. We have decided to leave these as are just in case the buyer wishes to reattach them. They can be filled in if preferred**.
These are fabulous pieces of vintage furniture in excellent condition.
