MId-Century Rocking Chair
MId-Century Rocking Chair
Some people describe this chair as 'Danish' but, as I can't absolutely confirm this I won't do the same.
Made in the 1960s of solid beech this is a beautifully balanced chair. The frame had been (badly) painted white, so we have stripped it and dyed* it ebony black. The seat has been recovered in this sweet printed velvet and all the foam replaced. The upholstery complies to all current UK and EU regulations.
*By dying the frame, instead of painting, we have achieved a depth of colour and allowed the grain of the beech to show through. Dying wood involves the gradual building up of colour by adding layer upon layer of ebony wood dye.
